And as I am allowing this word to transform and renew my mind (Rom. 12) I often see why we get stuck on the first half of the verse. For weeks I would read I am dark, and completely agree with it, but I found myself stumbling over the "lovely" phrase. And as I am being transformed in my thinking of Who I am, and What the Lord says about me: I find that its not what I do as a Christian that determines who I am; Its who I am that determines what I do. And as I see myself as lovely, even in my weakness, I live differently, I walk differently, and I love differently. Be encouarged because He sees you as His Divine Masterpiece! God has met me in a new way during the instrumental portions of the last two Monday watches. With my easily distracted spirit, He was able to corner my heart during those times of “quiet”...when only the instruments were leading worship...making it impossible for me to hide away in lyrics or other men's voices. Only then could I hear His “still, small voice”, whether the melodies coming forth were gentle and wooing or powerful and driving. Thanks to the team for being open to Godly improvisation, allowing me to experience Him in a fresh way. I agree also, Paul! We all have tough times. Being in the prayer room is not always super easy and wonderful. Some days it is intense warfare, exhausting and frustrating. The beauty is that God is blessed by our attempt to please Him. He knows our hearts. He knows we want to give this time to Him. He knows we are frail human beings with imperfections, yet He adores us and longs to be with us. What a beautiful thing...to give this offering of praise, imperfect and sometimes frustrating to a God who desires to hear our voices and to just spend time with us, and then, amazingly, He bows low and blesses us with the kisses of His heart.
